Thank you for your interest in the
Maine Outdoors and Shannon Guide Service. At Shannon Guide
Service we are committed to providing professional guide service,
assuring that your experience will be a pleasant one, filled with
fond memories.
Your guide Bob
Tiner is a lifelong native of Maine and has held a master license for
over 40 years. Bob's wife Meriese assists him in the logistical aspect
of their fishing guide service.
We are located 30 miles North of
Portland and 30 miles South of Augusta, placing us in the
prime fishing area in Central Maine. There are no less than 20 lakes and
ponds within this area that provide excellent fishing.
From January to March, ice fishing
provides a wide variety of choices as to which type of fishing you
prefer, including lake trout, salmon, brook trout, brown trout, rainbow
trout, splake, bass, white perch,
yellow perch, rainbow smelt, pickerel, pike, black crappie, and sea smelts.
From April to September, open
water fishing offers action for most of the above listed fish except for
smelts. The prime fishing time for salmon and trout is Spring and early
Summer. Lake trout are active throughout the year. Coastal fishing for
striped bass is also available from July through September.
